We chose to develop our HannaSoft™ fabric with TENCEL™ Lyocell fiber because it is a more sustainable choice than bamboo viscose. TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers are certified with the EU Ecolabel for environmental excellence.*

TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers are made from wood, a natural and renewable raw material carefully sourced from responsibly managed forests. The wood taken from nature is purposefully balanced with forest growth rates, to ensure the continued availability of this valuable resource.

TENCEL™ Lyocell is known for its innovative closed loop production process. Wood pulp is transformed into cellulosic fibers, while more than 99.8% of the solvent are recovered and fed back into the loop, resulting in close-to-zero wastage.

TENCEL™ offers a cool, stretchy softness that feels similar to bamboo viscose, but is a more sustainable choice. While many think of bamboo itself as a renewable resource, the process of making bamboo into a fiber and a fabric is not at all environmentally-friendly, and in fact requires the use of many harmful chemicals.

The TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers that go into HannaSoft™, on the other hand, are sustainably sourced from natural and renewable materials, and are certified with the EU Ecolabel for environmental excellence.

TENCEL™ is also much easier to care for than bamboo viscose. Just like our cotton, you can throw your HannaSoft™ items in the washing machine, right along with the rest of your laundry! No separating or line-drying necessary.
