Rated 3 out of 5 by Brandi114 Thin fabric does not feel like 100% cotton
I had not ordered anything from Hanna Anderson for a few years because I've found the styles unappealing and not up to the quality of the products offered when I first began buying years ago when my son (now 20), was a child. I just received 2 pairs of the Klara pants in black. I will probably keep them, but they are not what I expected/hoped for. The fabric is very thin for a French terry - certainly not the lovely, soft cottony feeling French terries that Hanna Anderson used to offer. In addition, they most certainly do not feel like 100% cotton - they have distinct feel of a synthetic/cotton blend with emphasis on the synthetic. I've never felt a fabric quite like this. The quality of the stretch does not feel like 100% cotton, it feels very much like a synthetic I am going to see if I can find a snippet to burn to get a better sense of what the composition might be. The interior is vaguely itchy - I will wash one pair to see if this improves. In addition, the top of the pants proper sits at the waist, but the waistband extends a full 2" above the waistline so I feel like the pants come practically up to my armpits. Maybe they will shrink in the wash, so this will change. All in all I am very disappointed. The only reason these pants get 3 stars is that they are the only French terry pants I could find and they are marginally better than the offerings of other companies. I still have Hanna's from the days of yore. Wish I'd bought mountains of back ups.

I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to find these Hanna sweats!
A little storytime about Hanna sweatpants.
I first tried them in a dark grey about 14 years ago, the french terry was so high quality and soft, that it was organic made it extra amazing. That first pair was a little snug in the waist for me and a little long in the leg. It was the correct size, because I did try smaller and bigger sizes that didn't work. With my height and shape (short but a bit round in the waist) I have trouble sometimes finding pants that work for me . Nonetheless these pants were the comfiest thing ever. I later reluctantly gave them to my husband who is didn't mind that they were women's (you couldn't tell) and he literally wore them until 2 days ago (the edges of ankles getting a bit frayed after so long).. Those sweats lasted 14 years!!
Then about 7-8 years ago I bought Hanna sweatpants again in a new styling (flatter wider elastic at the waist, no drawcord, more forgiving, and not as long in the length) I was so happy to discover that the medium fit me perfectly. I wore these pants night and day, I tell you. I lived in these sweats. Okay, maybe it isn't the most attractive notion for a mom of small children to go around in sweatpants all the time, but these weren't typical sweatpants. They were flattering and so comfortable I couldn't take them off! I didn't wear them so much out on the town, but all the time at home! I even wore them to sleep. I loved them so much I bought two pairs. I told my husband he had to try them and got him some for Christmas. When mine got holes in them after a couple years (from so much wash and wear?), I stole hubby's haha, and continued wearing them until those too got holes, and I reluctantly had to give them up about a year ago.
Last Christmas, I was delighted to find Hanna had a new version of the french terry sweats in, I believe the Stockholm pant. I got two colors, loving them both. The waistband was much stronger, and the ankles were cuffed. I had mixed feelings about the zippered pockets. Still they looked cute and quite stylish. The material was also thick and soft, familiar terry. It did have quite a bit of spandex in it, making it less breathable. In my case, I am always looking for the pure 100% cotton when it comes to sweatpants and other clothes. Unfortunately for me, I had also gained some weight and medium didn't fit as well as I'd hoped. The length was great, it was true to size, but just too snug in the waist for me. This isn't a flaw of the pants, but I have struggled to lose weight since having our fourth baby.
So to wrap up, I cannot tell you how thrilled I was to learn a couple months ago that Hanna had brought back the 100% cotton sweatpants for women, in any style! Immediately I bought two pairs, the Klara and another kind (not sure the name?) with a seam down the leg front and more traditionally cuffed at the ankle. They even had them in quite the similar grey color I had loved 7 years ago. I was lucky enough to find out about them at the same moment they were on a great sale. Joy! I purchased them both in large because I didn't want to risk medium being too snug in the waist this time. At this point I wear them every day, and it's bliss, like wearing a cloud. Seriously.
My only issue is that the material is thinner than the previous versions, so am a tad worried they might get holes sooner with how much I will be wearing them. That and they are long, quite. I don't know if it's because they are size large. And it turns out, the waist is nice and stretchy in these, more forgiving than the Stockholm sweats. So perhaps medium would have fit me better in the end. Happily, after a couple washes the cuffed ankle sweats shrunk up in the leg enough and are less baggy. I can get away with it because the cuff stays in place, so am not tripping on the pants. Haven't washed the Klara yet but am about to today. With the straight leg, they may not shrink enough for my height. Right now I am wearing them with the waistband rolled over twice, so I don't step on the hem. Okay, not the most attractive look for me, but the super comfy awesomeness of these 100% cotton French terry, makes it worthwhile.
Besides I don't really want to send back pants I have worn this much already. Am thinking of ordering another pair in medium, to try the smaller size for length, maybe getting black this time for variety. But apparently the difference in inseam between large and medium is minimal, so we'll see.
Sorry this review is so long. We have been purchasing Hannas for 16 years and love them, the quality is incredible. We have bought them for all 4 of our kids, and have items that have handed down through 3 daughters and one son. In fact, our 4 year old just inherited the hand-me-down 100% French Terry sweats from her oldest sister, still in good condition! Now all 4 of our children have worn the same pair of Hanna sweats. Love! Never gave a Hanna review before, so want to take the opportunity to thank you for being such a wonderful company. My husband and I have tried a lot of children's clothing brands over the years (with 4 kids, obviously), and nothing compares to the adorable variety of Hannas. Never have we seen clothing by any other company last so long and be so high quality. We love the adult clothing as well. Especially (did I mention this yet?) the Hanna sweat pants. Please do not ever stop making 100% French Terry cotton sweats (organic preferred) for kids and women! In fact, if you want to bring back the sweats for men too, my husband would be much appreciative!
Many thanks. xoxo

I am so pleased with these pants, there is nothing negative I could say about them. Except maybe there were more colors to choose from. Please don't discontinue this style!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pattycake Fabric not as nice as previously purchased French Terry sweats
I bought 3 pairs of "French Terry" sweats from Hanna several years back and LOVED them. Wear them so often they are becoming frayed at the pant leg hems. Have been waiting for Hanna to bring them back. Was disappointed to find the new ones are 100% cotton rather than cotton plus a few percent spandex. HUGE difference in the softness of the fabric. These pants are OK but do not compare in softness to my previous French Terry's" purchases. I won't be buying multiple pairs this time around.
