Rated 5 out of 5 by twinsplus handsome, lightweight, and cozy warmth!
My twin sons have finally outgrown their last Hanna coats after 4 winters in them (!!) and when I showed them these stylish parkas online, one boy really liked the blue/navy stripes and the other liked the stars, so that quickly settled things and made it easy for me. When the pre-season sale offered 30% off outerwear I made the purchase.
This parka seems equivalent to the fleece-lined color block parka that appeared for years in the Hanna catalog...a lightweight winter coat that falls a little longer than a jacket. It works great for snow play and recess during winter. My kids actually have used these as their winter coats (in southern Vermont) for years.
Only the sleeves of this coat are insulated (with Thermolite) but with quality insulated snow bibs that come up over their chests under the coat, and good hats, gloves & boots, the lightweight parka has kept my kids comfortable and has been sufficient all winter. On extremely frigid days sledding, or if they are going to be outside but stationary rather than active (watching an event), a close-fitting down vest underneath provides the extra insulation to make this versatile enough to use.
In case this helps someone making color choices online: I had trouble knowing what colors of snow pants would coordinate with the alpine green/star print coat because it was difficult to identify the color of the stars online or in the print catalog. On my monitor, the coat looked gray with navy (but possibly black) stars and in the catalog it looked more of an army green and the stars looked navy. When I consulted a customer service person over the Live Help feature online, she said the stars were navy and navy snow pants would match best. It turns out the stars are a dark gray, a little darker than the parka's fleece lining. The antwerp grey snow pants/gloves look fine with it (they are slightly lighter than the dark graphite of the stars) and I think black would work too.
I sized up (140) so the coats are very roomy on my boys (age 8) but I don't think they run particularly large. They probably are true to size. We snugged up the adjustable wrist tabs so the sleeves don't hang down as long and the coats are fitting fine with plenty of room to grow. We noticed small changes to the details, including a firmer (reflective) pull on the zipper, which makes it easy to grip and manipulate. Also zippable front pockets instead of velcro closures. Both boys loved the cozy fleece lining which is very soft, and I am pleased the product's quality, features and looks. Bring on the cold weather!

Rated 5 out of 5 by VTmomof3 Great fall jacket!
Bought this jacket for my two-year-old son. Exactly what I was looking for! fleece lined jacket with wind and water resistance for the cold/wet VT fall weather. So soft and the quality is great. Will also double for a light winter coat for the car. Thanks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by CAinCO Adorable but really thin!
This coat is very nice quality and stylish, but its really thin and I'm not sure how functional it will be in the actual winter (and definitely won't be able to use while skiing/sledding). This is probably my fault for buying online and not examining in person beforehand. A plus, though, is that it is thin enough that it will probably be ok wear in his carseat.
