Quite thin material. Cute design.
Love the spot design
Nice that can wear longer or shorter
Material to me seems quite thin and not so soft. not a huge fan of the material but maybe ok to stay cool in summer I suppose

Horray for Hanna! (again!)
Great pants. Just be sure to unbutton the pants before washing. I lost a button b/c the washer pulled it out. Quickly sewed it back on, but learned my lesson for the future.

We expect to like these, in spite of strange fit.
We expect to like these, in spite of a strange fit; they are wide in relation to their length, and the rise is low, for a pant designed for active wear.
I understand that sometimes fashion favors low-riding pants, but it is easier to be active in pants that actually fasten around the waist.
I am keeping these, and expect my daughter to get a lot of wear out of them, and have fun in them; just wish the rise from crotch to waist were higher.

Excellent for tall, slim-waisted girls
My daughter is Particular. Hates jeans. She needs an adjustable waist on everything. These have a simple drawstring waist and are a really nice weight in cotton (not too thin).
I bought one for her to try and as soon as she had done it up she asked me to order more: on in every color except the pink. Hates pink.
She likes the drawstring more than the usual button waist, as she can control it every time, and there are no buttons and folded elastic on the inside.
Note to Hanna Andersson: The polka dots were gorgeous, but how about in blue? And red? Pink was a no-go The think blue-and-white pinstripes are SO BEAUTIFUL!

Comfortable basic pants in simple style for warm days
We had two pairs of Hanna Beach Pants handed down from older to younger child, bought around 2006-7. I think these new ones are slightly stiffer, less breathable cotton fabric than the old pairs. This might result in longer wear, although both of the old ones survived (knees included!) through two boys. Heavier fabric in a tighter weave is less appealing for hot weather. Even on hot days, we often need long pants due to the prevalence of ticks and Lyme Disease where we live.
These pants are the best commercially available option I've found for what I want in summer pants, but they aren't quite as perfect as I thought they would be for my (child's) needs. I'm sure we will wear them, and that they will be passed down to the younger brother in time, so I don't regret the purchase. I think I may end up needing to sew my own simple, elastic waist, linen pants for the really hot days. I don't think what I want is available anywhere to purchase.
